Home from hospital!

I am doing well physically,mentally I'm not as good. I couldn't wait to get home and sleep in my own bed but with the staples and drain tubes I can't sleep but in one position which makes my back hurt. I can't take the pain medicine the doc gave me the taste stays in my mouth all day. I guess I'm whining I should be happy that it's finally over. Hopefully next monday he'll take my staples and tubes out and I'll feel much better. If anyone had these problems can you tell me how long it will be before I can turn over on my side to sleep? Well anyway, I don't want to sound ungrateful because I'm very thankful the Lord is giving me this chance at a new life. Thanks for listening to me vent my frustrations. Tonya P.

THANK GOODNESS YOU'VE MADE IT THRU THE HARDEST PART AND NOW YOU'RE HOME. I HAD OPEN RNY SO I DIDN'T HAVE STAPLES OR TUBES..STILL I HAD A HARD TIME ROLLING TO MY LEFT SIDE--IT TAKES ABOUT A WEEK OR SO...I PROPPED WITH A LOT OF PILLOWS-I TOO HAVE A LOT OF BACK TROUBLE..BUT THIS WAY SEEMED TO EASE THE DISCOMFORT. Tonya glad you are home i kow the pain meds are nasty but have you tryed to mix it with something? I thinkit was about 2 wks b-4 I could sleep on my stomach the way I sleep but I prop on pillows also I did not come home with drains they was removed b-4 I left hosp you will get better it just takes a lil time but each day gets better Take Care Huggs Beth

Tonya , It will get better every day. I prop a pillow under my tummy and then roll over on it. I don't look foward to bedtime anymore because Iv been laying around so much Im not really "tired" enough to sleep. Mayber one of those long body pilows will work for you.Im glad everything went well.

Hi Tonya, So glad you made it home, as well as to the losing side. You go girl!!! You can do it, the worse part is over. So they tell me, as I'm not there yet. Take care, have a speedy recovery, and God Bless. Jenni
