Humana HMO Woes

I finally made the decision and called my insurance company (Humana HMO self-funded solutions) and they told me surgery is not covered and neither is any other weight loss options. Can anyone help of give me some ideas

A coworker of mine found another place doing this surgery and sets up a payment plan for people. The monthly payments are very reasonable I think or shouldn't be doing it. She's having the surgery at Nortons Suburban in Louisville. Try calling them and see if they can direct you. Good luck! Let me just say, I have no regrets with this surgery. Since December I have lost 80lbs...was wearing a 22 and now wear a 14. Its worth whatever you have to pay!

I have Humana HMO and understand how you are feeling. I have a written exclusion in my policy and I don't think that there is a way around it. I am now looking for either a way to have the exclusion removed or paying for the surgery myself. Do you all of any doctors who will set you up on a payment plan? There is no way that I can pay for the surgery all at once. Thanks, Adrian
