Hi, I am wondering about something. When I first started researching on this surgery I was told that there was only one surgeon in Louisville and that was Dr. Shina. So, when I called Dr. Shina's office last spring I was told by them that on my first visit I would have to bring $250 for an adminstrative fee and $100 for another fee, I forget what now. Recently I have heard that some of the surgeons in Louisville don't charge any fees besides like a co-pay, example, mine co-pay is $15 for a docs visit. Does any one have any information on this? I am a house wife and if I can get a surgeon who doesn't charge any adminstrative fees my hubby will be happier, but its not a real big deal, I am just curious about whether theres any surgeons in Louisville who don't charge those extra fees? Email me or IM me at [email protected] or if u have yahoo, [email protected]. Thanks.

I have my answer, thanks. I was probably going to choose Dr. Shinas office anyway whether the charges were still being charged or not because of all the great things I have heard. I am glad that those charges are no longer being, charged.

Thanks, Kim, Dr. Geller, in with Dr. Shina emailed me while ago to say they no longer have those charges. So, I guess since I know they accept my Ins I will go with them. Thanks anyway for the advice, I can always use all I can get.

Hi Angela I am one of Dr. Shina's patients and have surgery scheduled for 9/20. I had to pay those charges one for 250 and one for 150 I paid mine in July and am wondering when did they stop charging? Sherry B.

Hi, Sherry, I have no idea when they stopped charging those fees. I called back in the spring but was told that I didn't have enough wrong with me to get approved, but they told me then that I would have to pay $250 in adminstrative fees, and another $100 for some other fee. Now that I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, joint pain, possibly diabetes I wanted to find out if they still charge those fees. Someone told me that most surgeons don't charge those fees anymore so that is why I was curious if Dr. Shinas office still did. Then when I posted that question, a few minutes later I got a reply from Dr. Geller who is in with Dr Shina, he said that he wanted to let me know that they no longer charge those fees. I guess u could call the office and find out when they stopped and why u were charged. I am sorry, but I don't know when they stopped, u can be sure when I call to make my appt I will find out more about it. I am curious, if they don't charge those fees anymore, is all I pay my regular copay of $15 each time I see Dr. Shina? What all do we have to pay out of pocket for? I thought someone told me we have to pay for the nutritionist? Please let me know what all we have to pay out of pocket for if u know of anything besides co pays. Email me at [email protected]
