Dr. Cacchione, the one in with Dr. Allen, uses the Norton's downtown. He did my mom's and she was downtown. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Hope all is well. Toni

Thanks, Mary Pat, I am looking forward to having my surgery and my stay there. We live 30-40 miles away in Elizabethtown, but thats ok, its not that far. Congrats! 71 pounds sounds like u have lost alot, I can't wait to get started on that journey myself. But, I still have more testing to do before I start with the surgeon. I want to make sure I have an airtight case to present to my ins co before I even start. Thanks and congradulations. I love reading profiles and learning all I can about the surgery, the surgeon, and the hospital!

I had open RNY here on 8/9/04 and was very disappointed with hospital care. My very good friends, my PCP and his nurse spent the first two days post op in my room with me and I don't know what I would have done without them, both commented on poor nsg care. Of course with myself being RN and having MD and another nurse present we were aware of many things not done. I had private room after many request. We were told air conditioning was out and would be fixed, well at day 6 when I was discharged was 96 degrees in room and we moved the fans they had purchased out and brought them home. Dr. Shina was grest and when he was there care was good but will not go back to this hosp. I am so thankful I was able to have my own nurse til I came home I don't know what I would have done without them. Jo

I can tell you that Nortons Suburban is an excellent hospital. My sister works there in the radiology dept. My grandmother was just admitted there and her stay exceeded three weeks. The entire time, the nurses did anything we asked. They met every need we had. They even acknowledged that sometimes during the third shift they get busy and for us to make sure we interrupted them if we needed something. I would chose this hospital over any other in Louisville...and I live in Louisville. Have lived here my whole life. Good luck to you...you have alot to look forward to. I had the lapband in December and have lost 75lbs. I feel great! Good luck!

Thanks for the tip and congrats on losing 75lbs. I am so looking forward to starting this. I already have high blood pressure, joint pain, and I am getting tested for Sleep apnea tomorrow. The sleep doc says I already have it, but got to be tested. Then after I find out I am going to make my first appt!!! I am thankful for all these post, thanks every one!
