Another Newbie Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Rhonna and I live in the mountains of beautiful eastern Kentucky. After vascillating for about 3 ideas with the idea of bariatric surgery, I finally came to the difficult decision that it was what I wanted. I have researched this extensively and feel comfortable with my decision. I have found a doctor that will respect my wishes as to what type of treatment I will receive and a hospital that is covered by our insurance. The surgeons fee will have to be self-pay, but I can live with that, if necessary. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you better and REALLY looking forward to getting this show on the road! I have a wonderfully supportive husband, but any support I could get here would be greatly appreciated!

Rhonna hello I live in west ky I want to wish you the best of luck on your journy and welcome you to the ky board I am 16mts out no I have lost 132 pds went for 260 down to 128 was in size 20+ jeans after 20s got to tight I did not buyno more I wore joggig pants now I am in any were from 2s to 1/2 I just had a TT hernia repair done on the 6th so still recouping from that the hernia repair was bad I had 2 of them on top of each other and looked like I had sallowed a big goose egg what Dr do you have I have dr Argotte he is in mayfield ky If I can help yu any way i wil be glad to and so glad you have such a supportavie hubby that helps allot when someone close to you like that helps to encourage you threw something like this cause sometimes its not easy Take Care Huggs Beth

Thank you, Beth! Congratulations on your wonderful success! I'm glad to hear that you are on the healing side of the TT, as well. I had one back in '89 after losing a lot of weight the "traditional" way. Obviously it didn't stay off. I am now older and hopefully much wiser, determined this time that with the tools I am given, I can keep the weight off permanently. I've already warned my husband that it will not be an easy time, but I think he will be up to the task. He wants this for me as much as I do, I think. My doctor is in Lexington, Dr. Steiner. I have not met him yet, that will be Monday at a seminar, though he has called and talked to me after receiving my email requesting him to be my surgeon. He came highly recommended by an aquaintance of mine. I'm very anxious to begin this journey! The doctor said that if the insurance cooperates, I should be able to have the surgery by the end of October. He said he would try and get me on the "fast track" with my tests, etc. because we have a cruise coming up at the end of January and he wants me healed up by then so I can enjoy it.

I appreciate the warm welcome from everyone. True Kentucky style! My seminar is Monday night and when I spoke with the doctor, he said that he thought we could get the surgery by the end of October if the insurance cooperates. I certainly hope it does! If I can't have it by the middle of November, I have to wait until February. THAT would be depressing!

February, that would be aweful is that a personal thing or is that the doc?
