The waiting is getting to me!

You guys I just wish I knew what my chances were for getting approved. I'm so worried that I won't. I feel fine but I know I'm not in good health. I suffered a heart attack a year ago. That is why my cardiologist wants me to have this surgery. I just wish I knew. If any of you guys have medicaid and been approved tell me what you think.

Hey, I think you have good chances. With the heart attack and the doctor saying you need this, I don't see how you can fail. Just think positive and keep on going for it. Lydia

Thank you Lydia, and you shouldn't feel bad about your decision. I would probably never have tried this if my cardiologist hadn't recommended it. I just wish I could do it on my own but years of experience have told me I can't. Good luck and God bless.

Kim Hi I know the waiting game bt I am sure you will be approved I have ky medicadeand was and all I had was bad back problems 100pds over weight and a mild case of seep apena heart disease does run in my family bt i did not have it yetSometimes it just takes time for all the paper work to go threw while I ws waiing i got my house very clean and I walked alot to start excersing b-4 WLS to make it a lil easer on me after it was all over with and I prayed allot Just any thing I could think of to do I did it to keep me busy Take Care Huggs Beth

Kim sweetie- I know Medicaid has paid for these surgerys. They shouldn't be a problem. Also most people who have had heart problems, go through a different step, and that is trying to get approval from their cardiologist. YOu have been blessed with already getting this, so things should go smoothly. I know this waiting game stinks. It got even harder for me, once I had a date, and I was excited and nervous, the time seemed to stop it drove me nuts!! Hey girlie! It is going slowly now. I hope to be at 230lbs when I go see the Dr on Sept 3rd. That is my next goal, then after that it is to get below that terrible 200.Try calling the Dr office to see if they received anything from medicaid yet. Sometimes you are approved, but they haven't scheduled you yet, and other times the precerter hasn't even gotten to a persons file yet and called medicaid. If they say they are still waiting for medicaid, see if you can call medicaid, and see where things are. This could help, or it could be impossible, just a suggestion.- Melissa

I've called so many times that I think they know my voice. I'm gonna try medicaid again tomorrow. You'll get there don't down any loss. I wish I could start losing now, but my nerves have gotten the best of me. I'm gonna try to start back walking in the morning I think that will help with the stress some. I'm waiting too! I'm going through my insurance carrier and I'm on pins and needles until I know! I get so depressed thinking I won't be approved or I'll have to go through 6 months of dieting,etc. to get approved. I think you have a very good chance with medicaid. I've heard of others who have been approved by medicaid. Just hang in there.
