HUMANA PPO????

Anyone out there have Humana PPO that has had the surgery? I was wondering how they were with approvals and what type of out of pocket costs I should expect to pay?

I have Humana PPO and I got approved pretty quickly. It took less than l month. My hospital bill was $32,000 and I'm not sure what my part is going to be. I had a private room so I will have to pay the difference in a semi-private and private. I believe that cost to be somewhere around $350. I had to go back to the hospital two more times. The second bill was $12,000 and I haven't received the third bill yet. I don't know what my expenses are going to be but I am not expecting it to be too much. We'll see.

I have Humana PPO as a state employee and I've just been approved. I started the process in June and got my approval call this week. So even though it seemed like a long time to me, many people have to wait much longer. I haven't actually had my surgery yet but with my deductible and my maximun out of pocket expenses, the insurance coordinator estimated that I would have to pay about $1000. You can sign up on Humana.com and see what your deductibles and max out of pocket expenses for your particular plan and they also tell you how much of that you have met. Good luck!
