Is there anyone in here that goes to Louisville.

Lydia, Hi, I'm not from Louisville but live close, I'm from Elizabethtown. I see Dr. Rodriquez in December. I read your profile and I also have medicare with a lot of back problems due to a wreck back in 1998. Anyway, I've been told that the only way medicare pays if you also have a comorbity, but that didn't come from Dr. Rod's office. Anyway I would also like to have the lap band done but I'll have to wait and see what the doc says. You don't have listed who your doc is? When is your consult? I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in this. My doctor is Dr. Shina. I was going to see Dr. Geller, but they said that Medicare doesn't pay for the Lap Band only the Gastric, and it just recently approved having this surgery because they have finally agreed that obesity is a disease. So good luck to everyone and my email is [email protected]. Oh and I go for my first visit with Dr. Shina on Aug. 31st. But I plan on going to the Seminar and support meeting on the 24th of this month to learn all I can learn about this. I hope to see some of you there. Lydia

Hi Lydia - I live in Louisville and had lapband surgery on Monday. Am home and doing fine.

I'm so glad your doing good. The lap band was what I wanted, but medicare doesn't cover that proceedure, so I guess I'm going for the bypass surgery. Are you going to be at the meeting the 24th?
