I was denied

I hope that you all do not mind me posting here. I am from AL, but my insurance is out of KY- therefore, just thought I would let any of you know that has Anthem Access PPO what they may be dealing with. Suzey from Dr. Gardner's office called me today to tell me that she faxed my request to the insurance yesterday and they called her right back to say that they have a flat exclusion regarding that procedure-they will not cover services related to weightloss or treatment of obesity. I am so thankful that I have been preparing for the worst, or this news would have killed me. It's bad enough that I am depressed. I have a lot to do in order to appeal. Don't get too upset . I think from just scanning this site that there have been people with the same insurer that appealed and won. I'm sure some one will reply that knows more.

Beth, please don't give up yet. I have Anthem Blue Preferred HMO, I have not been approved yet due to needing a couple of more appointments before mine can be turned into the insurance company. I did call the insurance company and they were very helpful and told me that I should not have a problem. They said that they approve them within 24 to 48 hours once they get them. After telling her about my medical history she said that I should get it right away. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and pray that you get it. Just keep trying. Good Luck. Lee
