Hi Deborah! I'm having surgery on 8-9 and, like you am very excited too! Not at all nervous about the surgery, although that could change when it gets closer to the time to go to the hospital. This site has been kinda quiet lately, so I wanted to make sure that you know I'm thinking of you and wish you all the best!

Thank you Alexis, It has been quite. People must be on vacation. Good luck with your surgery . I'm sure you will be fine. I have two cousins (Male) that had surgery one year ago in March and they are both very encouraging when talking about it with me. They say its the best thing they ever did. Neither had any problems during or after surgery and they said the pain meds reduced the pain to just annoyance or discomfort not "PAIN" . Just plan on sleeping for a few days after surgery and getting up and walking around about every two hours. They both eat normally again just much smaller portions and say they do not feel deprived at all. One of them has lost 170 and the other has lost 140.Talk to you again sometimes . Keep me posted on your surgery.

Deborah, I had the surgery 15 months ago,I have lost 110 lbs and am at goal. I was nervous too and I prayed a whole lot. This surgery will change your life forever and you have to accept that fact. You must be willing to change with it. I am on no medication now and feel wonderful, I eat pretty much anything I want, I stay away from sugar and fried foods, I excercise daily and am in better shape that I have been in many years. It came with a price,I had complications after surgery,it is a serious surgery but with the Lord's help and your determination and support(I am a major believer in the support groups) you will make it through it. Keep in touch and good luck on your new life!!!!!
