What would you say to a politician who could help you???
Hi Friends! It's me again, your trusty pest, continuing to ask you for info that will aid in my lobbying the government on a local, state and national level to eliminate obesity discrimination AND to make insurance coverage for surgical weight loss a mandatory benefit. Even though I'm in Alabama I am working to lobby all 50 states. It's pay it forward time..........can you please, please help me by answering this question. If you could sit face to face with anyone in power and make a difference.....what would you say to them about WLS and how it will change or has changed your life? Hugs, Rona

Wow, thats a tuff question, there is so many things i would like for people to understand, but until a thin person has travled in a overweight persons shoes its hard for them to understand what we go through. The first thing a thin person wants to say is push back from the table and stop eating...... well we overweight people know its not that easy, if it was there wouldnt be fat people suffering like we do. Im 37 years old and have 3 wonderful children a boy 14 a girl 13 and a girl 12 and if i dont have this surgery i may not live to see them all finish school, due to the health problem due to my weight problem. And belive me i have tried every trick in the book for years to loose weight, the only thing it got me was gaining more weight back. This is a fight that is never won. With this surgery we have a chance at having a normal, life, something ive never had, I have never been able to run and play sports with my children, go swimming, to amusement parks, or anything like that i sit on the sidlines and watch them grow up without me. I have so much that i would love to do and say, this is a fight that needs to be won, there are so many unhappy overweight people watching the world pass them by, with little hope of ever having something done about it.
Let me know if i can do or help out in any way
Cyndi
To please work with the insurance companies. I need this so bad but my insurace will not apporve me due to not having uncontrolable diebeties for a year. This is just not fair. They changed there policy in Jan. 04 and I started my process in Feb. and went through all the the process up to having the surgery itself and now they will not approve me. We need all the help that we can get. If you have any information that can help me PLEASE do so. I'm in Kentucky. I know that I have totally gone off of the subject (politician) but any help will help.
