Where are Dr. Bolar's patients to chat with?

Hello Dr. Bolar's patients, I have been on this web site since April, and I haben't talked to anyone hardly LOL, I feel as if I get on here and talk to myself. hahaha. I just recieved a surgery date! JuLY 22.I am counting the days.......if you'd like, drop me a line anytime!

Hi,I get on here almost every night.I saw that Jill wrote also.When I first came on this site I was talking to Jill but we couldn't get our E-mails straighten out.Maybe I can hear this way.I also have Dr. BOLAR as my Dr.They sent off my papers to the insurance company yesterday.Now is is a waiting game .Good for you on getting a surgery date.Maybe I won't be to far behind.Write anytime Charlane Beckner

Hi, Sarah, I am a Dr. Bolar patient. I had surgery in September and I have lost 98 pounds. My two daughters also had this surgery. The oldest has lost 110 pounds. My other daughter has lost 90 pounds, and I just brought her home today from the hospital after having her fifth surgery since October. My oldest daughter and I have both had our gall bladder taken out since our initial surgery. Other than that, we have done well. My other daughter has been ill since October. She has had a gall bladder surgery, two surgeries for adhesions, and a corrective surgery because her intestines were twisted in the initial gastric by-pass surgery. She wishes that she had never had the first surgery. I didn't mean to dump on you, but there are side effects for some people. My daughter was one of them. I hope things go very well for you.

I am also a patient of Dr. Bolar's. I had my surgery on Ocotber 29th and I have lost 110 lbs....I feel great. I am happy to see all you guys....I am on Dr. Bolars WLS Yahoo group...maybe we could all chat there one night....Thursdays about 10 if we could get some people to meet there...just go to the home page for Dr. Bolar's yahoo group and click on chat....room opens and ta da you are there....I have done amazingly well but I know there are people who do not have such an easy time...like your daughter....

Thank goodness I found you guys lol! Now I don't feel so alone! I would love to join in chat with everyone sometime and get to know you all! I feel like I need some encouragement from those of you that know what I am feeling right now. I mean, I know I have a good family support but there is nothing like talking to people who have been there and done that lol! 19 days and counting!

Hello, Im not a patient of Dr. Bolar's yet, Im trying to get everything settled so i can get a consultation. But he seems like the doctor iwould like to have, i would love to ask people questions, if i only knew where to meet. Let me know ...and I would be there if possible take care and keep in touch Kim

HI Kim! Dr. Bolar seems like he knows his stuff. I believe he will do an excellent job! What is the deal with your insurance? This is a little tip on what to get together before ur consult. Get all of your medical records copied, go through them and highlight the physicians notes that say anything about obesity, weightloss, the use of diet pills, high blood pressure, joint pain, depression, etc. anything to do with being obese. Get a couple of your doctors to right "letters of recommendation" to the insurance company,( i.e. the gyn DR., your primary care physician, etc.) Get copies of any involvement of Weigh****chers, Jenny Craig, etc. If your insurance covers it, go GET SLEEP APNEA TEST ASAP. Go to your local health Dept, and see a registered dietitian (get copies of the visit). If you get most of your stuff done before the consult, you wont have much to do except the pshyciatric eval. I was really prepared and it didnt take me long to get a surgery date. Good luck Kim and email me anytime! Sarah

I wanna join this thread!! LOL. I am a dr. bolar patient from Feb. 26.. down 65lbs. I am thankful to Dr. Bolar, and would trust him with my life. His staff is wonderful, and the only bad one he had up there is now gone. As far as complications and those things go, I had 2 strictures afterwards, but that is in no way any fault of Dr. Bolar.
