still asking questions.
does anyone know if getting enough protien helps reduce sagging skin. I know that losing weight at a slower pace is suppose to help. Can people that have had lap-band and people with by-pass respond. I am 100 lbs overweight, and still undecided as to which to chose. That is if I get approval from my insurance.
I don't know the answer to your protein question. Hope someone else does, because if it's true I'm gonna be the Protein Queen! As for band vs. by-pass...when I was researching all my options, I read that banding is 50% effective while by-pass is 90%, meaning that if you wanted to lose 100 pounds, you'd lose/maintain approximately 50 pounds w/ a band and 90 pounds w/ a by-pass. Now remember, statistics don't apply to everyone and represent an average, so you may choose the band and have 100% success.
Thanks for replying Jennifer. Im thinking of the by-pass because I still have my gall-bladder and Dr. Gellar takes the gall-bladder out at the time of by-pass . He can't do that at the time of lap because it contaminates the band. When I have the gall-bladder ultra -sound if there are any signs of desease I would have to have the gall-bladder removed and recover then have the band surgery. I prefere to have just one surgery,if you know what I mean. Maybe Ill ask the question and put a star on it, and well get more response.
