Does anyone have any information as to what I can expect? I don't think they'll haul me off in a straightjacket but I like to be prepared.

Brenda I'm not sure about with Dr. Bolar, but I had mine with Dr. Cacchione's people in Louisville. It wasn't bad. She mainly asked questions about me personally and my relationship with my family and friends. Making sure I had a good support system in place for after the surgery. I know some people have told me about taking a test with like 300 questions on it, but I didn't have to. I haven't got to have surgery yet because of an H pylori infection in my stomach but hopefully soon. Good luck on your journey I'm looking forward to being with you on the otherside.

My psychological evaluation was not very extensive. The questions were about your dieting history. They wanted to be certain you have fully thought this through and you can handle the changes that you will be facing when you lose this weight. Just answer the questions honestly and you'll be fine.

I saw Dr. Steger for my evaluation, I thought that he was very friendly, he was very easy to talk to. He will just ask you a bunch of questions, he ask me about all different kinds of things. Weight issues, why I thought that I over eat, if my family supported me stuff like that. He did recommend that I see a counsler. I don't know if this is standard or not. But I like him. Are you going throught the weight loss center at St. Joe East? Oh, he also has you fill our a questinare about 300 or so questions. Good Luck, Kathy

I met with Dr. Steger for my evaluation on the 18th of June. I liked him. I hated that 280 questionaire that I had to fill out. Took forever. I was stunned when he asked me if I could "wipe my butt", but he said that he prefered to be straight forward and blunt. After that, there was nothing that he could have said to shock me. My visit was longer then I expected it to be but the time seemed to fly by. It also gave me something to think about on my drive back to Northern Kentucky where I live. I hope your visit went well. I wish that I had thought to ask him if I passed!
