Home and happy

Well everyone I made it home. My post-op appt. went great. I lost 30lbs!!! However I am on a mouthwash type of antibiotic, due to my black tongue I got after surgery. Dr Allen thinks it is a fungus. Gross!!! Besides that I have great energy, and thank all of you for your prayers and support. This site has been a life saver for me. I might have chickened out of surgery if it weren't for all the support I got here from you all. Thanks again and God bless.-Melissa

Marsha when is your surgery, and where at? I will keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. This is the best thing I have done for myself, and know it will be a great change for you too. Good luck sweetie-Melissa

Glad you are feeling well. My Dr says it is not unusual to get thrush or other yeast based infections due to the antibiotics we get. A black tounge sounds weird though. Hope the mouthwash works for you. When was your surg? How long did it take to lose 30#? I go in on the 21st in Lexington (Nighbert).

Jennifer- I lost 30lbs in 2weeks. My surgery was on May 24th in Louisville. My tongue is getting better, so I guess this gross junk is working. I will keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I had RNY not the banding. Keep in touch. God bless you.-Melissa

Melissa, Hey girl! its great to hear from you. And even greater to hear your doing good. Sorry I mean great 30# is great. I go tomorrow to see Dr. Cacchione, hopefully i'll have a date. What hospital was your surgery at? I don't know which one my Dr. uses. I hope my outcome is as good as yours. Keep up the good work. God blessn you.

Hey Kim sweetie!!!! My surgery was at Norton's. They are great! Dr. Cacchione probably does his there too, you might ask him. Keep me informed. Which surgery are you going for, have you decided? I had lap bypass. I didn't get much good info on the banding, plus I live too far away to keep going to the Dr to get the band tightened or loosened. Hi Melissa, It's good to hear from you and know that you are on the mend. The weight loss is terrific. My surgery is at Norton's on the 25th and I'm and a little antsy. I completed all my pre-op testing last Wednesday so I am set to go. I will be having open RNY. It's good to see you posting again. Happy Healing!
