Hey gang, I doing great, still a little weak, but fine. I have already lost 15 lbs, don't know if that's normal.... Here's a summary of what I went through.... 1st day: It was a two hour surgery, I woke up abt. 3 1/2 hours later. I don't remember hardly anything the first day, weird...ICE, I wanted ICE! 2nd day: Little sore, no biggie... went to xray, drank some really yucky stuff so they could If was hooked back correctly... I was! After drinking that I seriously got sick, and that hurt quite a bit! Later on i got up and walked around the nurses station, ok. Liquids for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and your full! Weird! 3rd day: Still a little sore. Liquids as above, walked 3 times around the nurses station, different times, but i still did it. 4th day: Should be going home but blood pressure fluxuating high..low... can't stabelize. Also, postasium and magnesium levels way off... they won't let me leave... UGH 5th day: Everything fine, going home w/ harldy any pain... until the car ride home! 6th day: I'm home and everythings fine, a little weary, but just fine... God bless everyone! Deb

Deborah, that sounds relatively uneventful - actually sounds like a success story. I do hope the remainder of your recovery goes as well. I think it is so much better that they keep you in the hospital when everything is not just quite right. That beats having to go back in after returning home. My surgery is June 25 and I hope to do as well as you have. I wish you well.

Sounds like you are doing well. This was interesting to me as I am scheduled for June 7. Mine will be lap RNY. Was your open or lap? I'm wondering about having to drink that stuff to check for leaks. I gag so badly that I dread having to do anything like that. I was told that my surgeon checks for leaks while you're still under anesthesia. I hope that's the case. Good luck with recovery! Vicki

Great Deb! So glad your doing well. Sounded a little rough, but if thats the worse, sounds pretty good. I hope you continue to grow stronger each day. And that God watches over every step of your recovery.
