Insurance question.

I will be getting Anthem blue cross/blue sheild, thru my husband's work..next month. Now wil i be able to have my consult right away? Do i have to wait, because of that pre-existing condition stuff? has any of you, gotten the insurance and then went right out and had your consult? I dont know much about insurance. I was told i may have to wait a year...? OH NO... but i will do what i have to do... Thanks for listening.... Kim

Hi Kim, it just all depends on the type of BC/BS coverage you have. As of Jan 1 our BC/BS has a written exclusion for WLS. After you are on the policy you may want to contact them and see what they say. Blessings to you! Jill 12/1/03 311/232/170?

Kim, Hi! I have heard the same thing about BCBS of Kentucky...my BCBS policy is through New York so I am being covered, but yesterday when I was having my preops, Joyce, the nurse in Preop Testing, told me what Jill was saying, they have written exclusions for WLS...definitly call once his insurance goes through and make sure they send you the paperwork for the requirements or the exclusion, whatever the case may be.
