Dr. Shina

Anyone Have Dr. Mark Shina for surgery if so what did you think about him?

Sherry I Don't know Dr Shina but have heard like two things about him. One was in the chat room which for somereason my computer will not bring up the chat room anymore so I can only post on the boards. When they asked me what Dr I had they said they hoped it wasn't Shina they had heard too many bad things about him, the other is from a patient themself, and I can't seem to remember their name but they seemed very pleased with him. The best I can suggest is do as much research that you can on him and see what his patients say. Then I would just follow your heart and how you feel to make any decisions. good luck in your journey.- Melissa

I am glad you posted this question... I hope you get a lot of responses.. I too, read up on Dr. Shina and I thought he sounded good..but i went into the chat room and i think it was Ken someone, told me that they heard he was horrible. They said he was a "butcher" and left horrible scars and had bad bedside manner. But when i read his profile on here, there are a lot of possitive comments. So i am wondering the same thing you are iwill keep watching this post.. thanks a lot Kim

Don't know anything about Dr SHina, but know Dr Gaar is the greatest. He is head of ALL of the Dr's at the V.A. hospital, and could handle any problems that arise. He is an excellent DR, and has an awesome bedside manner. He is single and (I believe) devotes his LIFE to bariatric surgery and WLS pt's. He is NOT in it for the bucks!!! Look over at the left column here and you can review bariatric surgeons and even dieticians, and psych Drs and others. There are many, many people that love Dr Gaar. I am having surgery with Dr. Shina on June 24th, and personally I think he is great! He was very upfront and honest about everything. I will have more info after my surgery, but so far, so good!
