First off thanks to Robin very helpful link, I learned a lot there. Vickie hope you will let me know how your appeal turns out. I'm having trouble with the email buttom on this site. Thats why I called out to you Bonnie in my title line. I emailed some people and had copy sent to me I never got copy or is it not our regular email, anyway? Help ? Bonnie, I would love to ask you lots of questions I hope you don't mind. First of all when did you start your process, how long from first sending in request was you denied and how long till you got the appeal notice that you were now approved they told me today they can wait 30 days, to say yes or no, even if they know today they may wait. I see you've had surgery, that's great congrats on the lose too. You see the reason the time frame questions,is 1) CJ wants to have his surgery during the week of May4-10 that the first full week he is out of college. because he needs summer to recoup, cause school start middle of August and he was hoping to be able to do a summer class in July, somebody else will drive him if need be. 2) I need the answer from ins, be it yes or no, so I can make arangments to self pay if nes. and then I will sue the Ins. Co. because this is truley a medical ness. 3) plus I need time set my time off work to be with him, I know he is 20 but still my child he will need help and care for a few days. Just to make it short a lot a scheduling has to be done. another thing: they told you it was a requiment as of middle of February? They told me it was the first of January ? wonder why The nurse is Dr. Pack office did not know about it until late in March. When was you first consult, CJ was 1-26-04. I cant see why they approved all the preop test for him, which was several thousand dollars, when looks like they would have said hey are you insulin depentent , if answer is no, why would they invest the money in more tests, if they already know they will deny it on that reason. Where you on Metformin? Gee I'm sorry for being so long winded, I just need help is which way go here, clock is ticking. Hey I live on Fullers Ridge, if not for trees, I would be looking right down into Fallsburg. My house to the falls, is about 2.5 on the road, closer is you scoot over hill. Been here 4 years now. ok my email addy is [email protected] or answer here I will be on the lookout for it. Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, Trish. I haven't heard anything yet from my appeal. They do have 30 days to reply. I will let you know when I hear something. You do the same. I was told to send a copy of my appeal letter to the Ky. Dept. of Insurance, PO Box 517, Frankfort, KY 40602. I did that and received a letter today from them that they are investigating my complaint and will advise me of their findings in about 30 days. I was surprised to get the letter because I didn't realize that they would do that. I'm glad they are, however. I, too, know what you mean about your 20 year old son. I have a 23 yr. old son who is married and I would still do whatever he needed me to do for him! They are always our children. Good luck to you and your son.
