If you are talking about protein shakes, there are many available. It depends a lot on how much money you want to spend. Most of them are yucky so it is better to order samples from www.vitalady.com or www.bariatriceating.com before you order a whole tub. I like the Elite by Dymatize that I first ordered from bariatriceating.com Then i found it a whole lot cheaper at muscleshoppe.com. Also GNC has a return policy but no samples. Walmart carries a good tasting (I think) shake. It is carb solutions in the powder. It is 8.96 a can and is about a two week supply. has 20 g protein per serving. I like it in the blender with skim milk and a couple of ice cubes. It is about the cheapest and also one of the best tasting there is in my opinion. I drink three shakes a day because I am unable to eat meat. Also Walmart has the premixed EAS Advant Edge. that is 15g protein per container. It is about 6 bucks for four. Look for less than 5 carbs, 0 sugar and high protein content.

I eat meat with no problem. For steak and such it takes longer to chew and I can't eat but a few bites, but still, no problem. Some of the others in my WLS group have problems with certain meats, but not all of them. Meats are just harder to digest than carbs.

This was brought up at one of our support meetings. They asked for a show of hands that had problems eating meat and nearly every hand went up. Not everyone has trouble with all meats. It is different for everyone. Some can eat chicken, some can't, some can eat beef, some can't. You get the picture. A few people have no problem at all. I can eat very little meat of any kind and that is alright. I don't miss it very much.
