Hi everyone, i post on the main message board often, but i was told by some friends from here, my best bet is to "GO LOCAL" and see what kind of input i can get. here is my story, im obese, i need the wls. (sounds familiar right..lol) well, my husband is getting walmart's plan, Anthem Blue Cross/blue sheild. So everyone tells me not to even try, because walmart denies everyone. Even an obesity lawyer wont take the case if im denied. so i guess its a no win situation. So i tried to get individual insurance, and of course i cant because when they ask my weight, im denied. Well, im learning about this Kentucky Access. A program that the state has for people who cant get insurance. its costly.. about 400$ a month. But it will cover .. i just dont know how long you have to wait to try or anything. So if anyone knows anything about it or about anyone having luck with Walmart...Please let me know.... I need to hear some hope...sometime... thanks Kim

Have you chosen a surgeon yet? This would be something I would talk to your surgeon's insurance coordinator with....they would/should know. Kat

i have spoken to 3 diffrent surgeon's office's. They all know that Walmart's will not approve it, but they tell me to come in and get denied anyway... but that will just kill me. they tell me to appeal.. but no one has ever really won with fighting walmart from what i heard... Oh....I wish walmart would just understand that they could save so much money in the long run... by letting people have the wls before other conditions destroy the body... ohhhh... what to do now...i dont know..
