Hi, I'm just beginning this process for WLS, and was wondering what exactly Dr. Bolar's office handles. I've heard everything, but would like to know from people that REALLY know...and what about the psych/nutrition appts...do they handle them too? I've heard that they make appts sorta back to back for the convenience of the patients, that true? Lots and lots of questions...big time nerves/excitement... Thanks, Cass

Dr. Bolar was my surgeon and I could not have been happier. Things were handled promptly and all were scheduled very close together...and everyone was so nice as well!!! I had a pre-op physical scheduled one day with a psych appt the next day and all my pre-op testing, one week prior to surgery, was all handled in one day by the hospital. My surgery was 10/29/03 and I have lost 60 lbs thus far.... Dr. Bolar is the man!!!!!!!!!

I'm having surgery with Dr. Bolar on Feb. 26th. I am so pleased with him to this point!! The only "down fall" was that they don't assist with any insurance appeals, but since you have a surgery date you are probally passed that point. I was denied on December 1st, but they don't have enough staff to help with the large number of denials that need appeals. I emailed them and told them to hire me..lol..... I have my preop scheduled for this thursday the 19th at 7AM..that's early..lol.. Amy @ Dr. Bolar's said it'll be an all day thing. I think it's great he is a thorough doctor. Hope I helped you some, but if not, feel free to email me. I know the anxieties you are feeling right now, i'm right there with ya!!

Hi Cass, You will find that Dr. Bolar is a great man and a great surgeon. He is very humble about all the people that he has helped. I had my surgery 12/1/03 and am down 48 lbs and I feel great. I wouldn't change it for the world! The one thing that I have told people is that the first couple of weeks when you are on the liquid diet are the PITS! Everything else I handled just fine, but that part really got to me. I just had to keep telling myself that I had to heal and that food would be added gradually. It seems like an eternity but be sure to follow doctors orders. He and his staff knows what they are doing. If you have any other specific questions feel free to email me. May God bless you on your journey! Jill
