please help!!!

i am still looking i am a 39 year old mother of 2 young children--i am divorced and trying to make it on my own----i weigh 376 pounds and i need surgery badly---i want the lap band because it is not as dangerous-----my pcp is willing to help in any way---i have medicaid and i need to find a doctor that will take this--i need so badly to have this surgery because i have to be able to take care of my kids---at this point no one will hire me because i can't stand for very long or i'm not the skinny perfect smiling face they want to greet people at their front desk---i can't fit into chairs easily --so i don't sit confortable either---i just plain need help---if anyone knows a surgeoun that will take medicaid for this please please please help me-----debbie from kentucky

Hello Debbie, I don't have an answer for you but I wanted to remind you to find out how many "fills" medicaid will cover after your surgery. I have a friend that had lap band and is doing well. However, she didn't find out until after she had already had the surgery that her insurance would only cover a certain amount of fills for a certain length of time. I'm not trying to discourage you, just wanted to make sure you keep this in mind. I know as a single mother (been there myself) that it may be impossible to afford the fills once the insurance stops covering. I wish you much luck! Hugs ~RuthieKY~

what part of KY do you live in? I am in western part of the state and have a wonderful doctor. He is just 20 miles from Paducah and his staff is great and can answer any question you throw at them, He is Dr. Argotte in Mayfield Donna

Debbie try the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at St. Joesph East In Lexington. I know they take so many a month on medicaid. You have to be on a waiting list because they only take about 20 a month. But at least there is hope. Their Phone No. is 859-967-5520. I hope you can get help there.
