out of pocket expenses

I visited Dr Olsofka(Caritas bariatric Weight Loss) today for my first consult for Lap-Band. He was talking about me paying some money up front and I would be reimbursed by my insurance.( I haven't beeen approved yet). I am assuming this is common practice. Have other people experienced this? How much did they have to put up? Money is very tight for me. I am not scared of having Lap but paying for it gives me the willies!! cherie'

Hi Cherie, I had my open RNY done and I had to pay $578.00 a week before. That is not uncommon in a situation like this. Take care, Jill
