Im counting down!!!

Well i made it through the holidays, not counting down the days till Christmas but counting down the days till my new beginning My surgery is scheduled for Feburary the 5th with Dr. Shina My nerves have been all jumpy And i dont know if if im just anious or scared or both .Has anyone here had surgery with Dr. Shina or at Norton Surburban in Louisville Ky? that could possiably tell me what to exspect Well I guess that about all please just keep me in your prayer as my day approaches And any advice or friendship will be greatly accepted. Hello Laura I just had my surgery January 6th and came home today. I went to Dr Nighbert at St Joe East in Lexington. All is well so far! Hang in there and the best thing I can say is keep plugging on your preop diet!!!! Keep getting those fluids in now..I really struggle with it! Take Care

Laura, I had my surgery on Sept. 25, 2003 with Dr. Shina at Norton Surb. Dr. Shina is great. I had the open type of surgery. I have lost around 53 pounds and still have more to lose. The hospital was ok. My mom stayed with me day and night or I would have felt very alone. THe nurses were nice but they had so much to do that they never came in to make sure I was ok. My mom had to do everything for me (even the bathroom). Dr. Shina on the other hand, was wonderful. He was just a call away.
