Hi. Does anyone have any suggestions on this Isopure from GNC . I bought the chocolate flavor and mixing it with water sounds pretty boring. I'd appreciate any hints. Thanks, Jill

Hi Jill, I actually get the GNC 100% Whey Protein and I mix it with the Carb Count Down Fat-Free Milk, which I get that at the Super Walmart on Nicholasville Road. The GNC Whey is 21gms and the Carb Milk is 14gms so I get in at least 35gms with one drink. I just put it all in a blender with a little DaVinici Sugar-Free syrup and a few ice cubes and mix it up like a milkshake. It's really delicious. I also like the Isopure vanilla and I do the same thing. The Isopure packets that I get have 50gms of protein but I'm more partial to the Whey because of the taste. Hope this helps. Many Blessings with your success!!!!!

Take the 2 scoops of vanilla isopure, mix it with 1 cup of fat free Lactaid soy milk with protein or Carb countdown milk, and add 1 teaspoon of fat free Nestle hot chocolate mix. Mix it in a blender and pour it over ice and you have a great chocolate milkshake. I don't know if using chocolate isopure and no hot chocolate mix changes much, but does the chocolate Isopure come in zero carbs like the vanilla? It just may have a little different flavor. Also, using Ameretto or Irish Cream sugar free Davinci Flavoring with the chocolate would enhance the taste. Lately I've used raspberry flavoring instead of the hot chocolate mix too. I have tried all and love them. You can buy samples of the flavoring at www.vitalady.com without spending a ton.

I was having a *REALLY* hard time doing my shakes until recently, when I started adding 1/4 to 1/3 a banana to them. One hint--if you are thinking about using fat free products, make sure you read the label carefully to make sure that it doesn't have too much sugar. Many fat free products add a ton of sugar to make up for the loss of fat; further, if you have had gastric bypass, you really don't have to worry too much about fat anymore because our bodies no longer absorb all the fat we eat or drink (just don't go overboard!). I have found that many times I have to use the full fat version of foods because if I get the fat free version, the amount of sugar in it will make me sick. Finally, I hear a lot of people talking about how milk is eeevil because it's so high in sugar; yes, it is, but it also contains precious protein, vitamins, and water, so if you can tolerate it, I say drink up!
