Help!!I need some post op information
Hi everyone,
I am really feeling great two and a half weeks out. Had my staples out Monday, but I have an area on my left side at one of the incision sites that is extremely uncomfortable when I do any movement. The doctor has assured me that it is completely normal and that there is a small hematoma there that is absolutely nothing to worry about. I wondered if anyone else has had this experience and if so, how long did it take to feel better. I need to go back to work on Monday, but I am not sure that I am ready to keep up with second graders with the soreness that I am having. I have had no other problems and feel FANTASTIC except that I hurt so badly when I walk around. Please help if you can!!
Thanks,
Sharan
I don't know if this will help. My surgery was Lap Rouxen Y and I had about 6 incisions and around one of them I had pain and pulling for about 4-6 weeks post op. I think I would set out another week before I went back to work. If you not totally up to it, you will feel the effects in the long and end up having to take a day off here and there. My advice is to wait before you go back to work and give your body more time. I went back to work 4 weeks after my surgery basically because I had enough sick leave and even though I felt great, my body tired out easily. I haven't missed one day of work since I went back on Sept. 4th and I think it was due to being "ready" to go back. You don't want to risk getting a hernia from tugging or lifting too soon.
