I am getting ready for surgery on Jan 23rd. I am wondering, I purchased the powder from Dr. Neighberts office that you can sprinkle in your food and drinks to add protein to your food. My question is, if I use that stuff even in my water, (It has no taste by the way) do I really have to use the shakes as long as I am getting in enough protein? Any comments would help.

As long as you are getting in between 60-80g protein a day, it doesn't matter where it comes from. I am ten, almost eleven months out and I still have to drink two shakes a day. But, I buy mine at Walmart. I just couldn't afford what they have that Amanda sells. I did buy two jugs of the muscle provider she had but had to stop. It is too expensive if you have to drink two a day. Are you sure that you can get that much protein from food. I am their patient also and that is the amount required by them.

I bought my protein shakes from Walmart too. The stuff I am talking about comes in a small tub like the big shake ones. I got this stuff from Amanda. It is a non-tasting, non-colored, powder that you can sprinkle on your foods or add to your drinks and it has no flavor. It is purely protein and 1 scoop is like 25g of pure protein. That is the stuff I am talking about. I figured that I could add it to wate, Crystal Light or Kool-Aid as I am drinking and could be getting my protein all day long. If you know the stuff I am talking about, please let me know. I am at work so I am not sure on the name of it. I will get back with that.

Hi Delores, What is the name of the protein shakes that you get at WalMart? I was going to try their's before I went to GNC to buy the "big" jug. Thanks, Jill
