Denied... But may have good news soon!

Well, got the call from Kim at Dr. Bolar's today. Bluegrass family health Denied me. There reason?? My weigh****cher stickers had the date I attended the meeting wrote out to the side, instead of on the sticker. The more I thought about it, the more I got upset and with the help of my angel if florida, I called the insurance company. All of a sudden, they changed their minds. The diet history is "fine". But since I don't have any known MAJOR health problems, they aren't sure if I am "right" for it. Even though I am over 100 lbs over weight. Their requirement is to have a BMI over 40 (which I have) and a 6 month diet history in the last 2-3 years (which I have, as well). So what's the problem?? After talking to several people today, I FINALLY found someone who is going to have the doctor review my case again tomorrow, and he has the option to over turn the decision and rule in my favor. I am so hopeful, but yet very diappointed. I had heard great things about Bluegrass family health covering the surgery if you have all your ducks in a row. And now, Denied. But, I am not giving up. April, I think you're doing the right thing by confronting the insurance company. Just plow right ahead. I've heard from some people that some insurances deny automatically the first time then approve the second. Maybe they're weeding out the weaklings that will give up after the first try. Keep trying, you'll get there and don't give up. If you really want things to happen you can do it. Good luck and keep us posted. Laura Johns

Thanks Laura. I too since being denied have heard from a lot of people they are starting to deny off the bat lately. Man, I wish they had done this 5 WEEKS ago when the received my stuff!!
