I AM APPROVED AND HAVE A DATE!!!
I'm registered with Dr. Nighbert's office in Lexington. I had my psych evaluation Thursday and Karen called me Monday (I missed the call) to schedule a date for surgery and to tell me I was already approved!!! Praise the Lord!!! My date will December 4th, 2003!!!! So soon, so much to do! I have my nutrional seminar and bariatric boot camp on November 26th and meet with Dr. Nighbert that day also. Everything is moving so fast, I'm just sooo excited. I'll be one of you soon!! I'm ready for my new life to begin!! Thank you to my angel Jennifer . She's been so great! I don't know what I would've done without her! Laura
Boot camp is something they have recently started at st. joe. They have the whole group come in and take you on a tour of the floor you will be on. They introduce you to the nurses, show you the gowns, show you the pain pump and the little things they put on your legs to prevent blood clots. they dhow you the proper way for you to get out of bed after surgery and a bunch of little things like that. Nothing to sweat over but things that will make your surgery stay better. I know you didn't ask me but I answered anyway haha.
Paul, thank you sooo much for the congratulations!! I have Humana HMO. I had my psych evaluation (last test) this past Thursday and the surgeon's office called and said I was approved by the following Monday!!! A mere 1 1/2 working days!!!!! And bariatric boot camp, Delores Sester posted that they take a group of surgery patients for the same month at tour the hospital and show you the gowns, how to get out of bed after surgery, etc. I also know they'll show you where you go to be admitted to the hospital. I can't remember if you go aheqad and register that day or not. I know I'm leaving out stuff. I've learned alot from the Library here on the website. There would definitely be something about the boot camp on that I bet! Thanks again for the prayers and congrats, and just know that they're "back atcha"!! Laura
Hey Delores, Debra, Paul, Laurie and Sharan!!! Thank you all sooo much for the support! I e-mailed Paul a response but didn't realize it would be posted on here or I would've made it to all of you in the first place. Soooo, I cannot wait to begin this journey!!! I AM SO EXCITED! I know it won't be easy but I know it's going to be so worth it. I have learned so much from all of you that I would just like to express my appreciation (tearing up right now) for all the help you've given me and you never knew it. All your names are so familiar to me now. I hope we can meet someday at a support group somewhere or something. Thanks again!! I'll definitely keep ya'll posted!! Laura
