I would like to know if there is anyone in the Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Louisille area, that has had a WLS performed by Dr. Jeffrey Allen caled a BPD., or had a revision from an RNY promixal to a Distal RNY. I am scheduled for surgery with him soon, and I cannot seem to find anyone that he has performed this surgery on. So.......I am beginning to get very Nervous about this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Terri in Kentucky.

Hi, did you go to the 'find a doc" section and click on his name and comments from patients? I don't know why you can't find anyone that has used him. He did not do my surgery. I am near lexington so I used Dr. Steiner but i can tell you that Dr. Jeffery Allen is one of the best wls in the state and I don't know how long it took you to get in to him but he often has over a uears wait to even see him for a consult. he is a very goodd and popular doc. Good look on your surgery!!!!!!. You don't have anything to worry about with Dr. Allen.

Theresa, I have been to Dr. Allen twice and every time I am in the waiting room , I hear nothing but good things about him. My cousin is a nurse at Norton's downtown (where he usually does his surgeries) and she says that he is very competent. He was selected by the FDA to test the lap band procedure when it came out a few years ago. His practice is dedicated to WLS, and doesn't do anything but WLS. Hopefully this will give you a little information about him. Like the other lady said you just don't walk into his office and see him. It took me 11 months to get in for a consult. My wife waited a year. Now I am 5 weeks from having an answer from my insurance company as to whether I will be approved or not. Don't know about the procedure you are talking about, but if you were referred to Dr. Allen I am sure he is well capable of performing it. Best Wishes & God Bless, Paul Skaggs
