Hello again! I know snacking is forbidden after wls, but sometimes, I just have to have a bite of something. I have tried the carbo-lite chips( Nacho) but they tasted like cardboard with nacho cheese on top. I have tried the snack bars and they were nasty. My son that would eat anything chocolate would not eat them. The other day, I just took a bite of tortilla chips. That did the trick. I didn't want anymore and I was fulfilled. It is almost like I am a kid again and someone is telling me "no", but after I try just a sample that is it, I am done with it. Also, We eat out all the time. In this life and time with everyone working and in a hurry, we eat out about 4 to 5 times a week. I have been eating hamburger patties with cheese ( McDonalds, Wendy's) , fish and cheese(McDonalds), Chicken patties from where ever we go. Is this legal after WLS? I dont' know what else to eat. My doctor said that I am in phase III of the diet. Which means, I can have only protein (meat) three times a day and two protein shakes> Does anyone out there have any type of suggestions. I am 5 weeks post op. and it is too early in the game to give up now. I have lost 24 pounds so far. YEah!!! Before the surgery, I could drink 64++++ ozs. of water. Now, I can't stand water but I drink Crystal light and unsweetened tea. I know if I can get back on the water, I could lose more weight but I can't seem to make myself. Oh, My husband and I went on a date to the movies last week. I could not stand the smell of popcorn any longer. I ate about a handful and I was full. WAs that a NO- NO? You know, it is hard to take beef patties into the movies with you... Ha! Ha! Let me know what you think.

When you get the hamburgers and cheese or chicken or fish or whatever just take the bun off. I am nine months out and I cannot eat buns at all. they get all gummy and plug my pouch. Also Wendy's chili is a good choice. You should be able to eat half of a small one at this point and take the rest of it home with you. It is full of protein. 17g i think for a small one. You can have them put cheese on it. I also can eat the inside of a mc Donald's breakfast burrito and sometimes a little of the wrap itself. Just eat the inside tho. You are not far enough out for the wrap part of it. Buy a prtoein bar at walmart to take to the movies with you. i tried and really like the atkins protein bar. The chocolate decadence is to die for. One small bar has 18 g protein. The carbs are a little high but the NET carbs which are the only ones you count are only three. or so someone posted today. I don't know how to figure that out but man oh man are they good.

Hey Angela. I am new to the message board, I am 5 months post-op with Dr Bolar. As far as the water goes, try the flavored water from Walmart. Sams' Choice, about 68 cents for a 1-liter bottle and prolly a dozen or so flavors. It is like flavored seltzer water, and the bubbles don't bother me at all. I drank that for a long time till I finally started just plain water. But it has to be so cold it'll freeze your tonsils !! hahaha. Now I am so used to the water I actually crave it. I feel dry inside and out if I go a day without enough. Also, GNC has an awesome protein powder that u mix with water or milk and it has 25 grams of protein and only 2 grams of carbs. I think the strawberry is the best. It tastes like strawberry quik, but if u mix it with water the consistency is a little chalky at first. Milk makes it creamier but also adds carbs. I got used to it within the first week, tho. A one pound cannister is about $12 and at one scoop per servng, it lasts about a month. I just bought a 4-lb can for 28.00 . Hope some of this helps. BTW, great loss so far !!! Jenn
