WLS Support Group in No KY?

I live in the Tri-state area and am having the surgery 11/10 in Indianapolis. That is a 2 hour drive though and I am hoping to find a Support Group in Northern Kentucky where I work. I know that support is a BIG factor in post surgery success. Anyone know of a meeting I can start attending?

Annette, There is a support group that meets in Erlanger, KY at Silverlake Recreation Center. Their next meeting is Nov. 12 at 7:30 PM. Don't know where in KY you work, or how familiar you are, but it is not too far off of either I-71/75 South, Commonwealth Avenue exit or I-275 East, Dixie Highway exit. The contact person is Lisa Sironen, from the Advanced Bariatric Center. Her number is 859-426-4741. I went to the September meeting. They are just getting started and a bit disoranized, but everyone is very nice. They were looking for someone to be the group leader. I didn't make the October meeting because I was too tied up preparing for my own surgery. I just had open RNY in Louisville, KY, which was almost a 2-hour drive from my home. Sorry you had so much trouble finding a surgeon, but glad you like her. To me, that is just about the most important aspect. For some personal and work reasons, I am looking at trying a group in Cincinnati, so don't know if I'll see you at the Edgewood meeting. Hope you find a group to work for you. Sandi
