Getting bored....
It's been awhile since posting. I'm getting afraid of myself on this diet! I'm getting bored with the meats only. I've thrown a few vege's in now and then (green beans, cooked carrots) but I'm really craving the pastas and sweets! I've taken "bites" here and there of noodles, hash browns, etc., and it's helped, but I know I shouldn't.
For those who don't know me, I'm about 15 weeks post op and down 78 pounds and feeling good! Starting to look pretty good, too! LOL I don't know what's causing this slump. I'm finding myself putting just a dab more than 2 oz on my plate and eating it all. Tasting things I shouldn't (like sweets) and the nibbles of carbs. Does anyone else go through this? I'm afraid I won't be able to stop doing this and gain my weight back! Please say a prayer for strength!

Laurie,
I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. I am so sick of meats right now. I have been bad about eating veggies instead of meat. I do have a hard time eating chicken, especially if it's baked. I vomit everytime. I am about 5 weeks out and down 36 pounds according to my scale. I do have a hard time eating just my 2 oz, it's not like I am hungry though. More often than not I have to force myself to eat at all. The water thing is getting to me too. I haven't really tried any sweets yet though. I am trying sooooo hard to stay away from them because if I am able to eat them then I am doomed. Anyway just thought I'd let you know that you are not alone. If you get any advice please pass it on, I would love to hear it.

Try Soy Chorizo. I had some PRE op and loved it. You can add it to scrambled eggs and it is very spicy/flavorful and good. I got it where the tofu is at SuperWalmarts.
You might also look for pasta that is LOW in carbs. I know they make it at health food stores. You can make things that are Healthy but different.....try www.lowcarbfriends.com if you must have sweets, make it when splenda.....or add protein to it....
use soy baking material versus regular flour....
Also, drink more water, as it fills you up.
Good luck. I'm a week post op and everything smells like heaven. I hope this goes away soon.

Hi Laurie,
I been going through the same thing. I will be having my test to see for a fact if I have a large stoma or not, but I always eat more than two ounces, but what I have been doing is drink 3 protein drinks giving my 60 grams of protein and drinking at least 40 - 60 ounces of water a day in addition to drinking crystal light. Then for supper I eat a regular meal such as small shake n baked chicken breast, potatoes (yes I know I shouldn't), and peas, or I'll have an egg, piece of sausage and one piece of toast (yes I know I shouldn't), but I have found that -- like today for instance -- I was only able to eat one piece of sausage. Drinking is the trick for me. I absolutely quit pastas, becuz I was a big chef boyardee junkie. And I do drink diet mt. dew becuz I need my caffeine. I don't think anyone can always stay on track, but Laurie don't give up. Tomorrow is a new day and you can start over. When I really mess up that's what I tell myself and I do it. I still don't walk and exercise like I'm supposed to. But I am joining the fitness center next week. I would already had planned on doing that but shoot, it costs me $95.00 a month for my protein mix, plus the vitamins, and calcium. Email me at [email protected]. My email was messed up for a while but it's up and working now. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. I've lost 60lbs now. That protein really kicked in my weight loss. Tabatha
