looking for a surgeon that takes Tricare Prime

Hello, I am looking for a Surgeon in the Nashville Area that will take Tricare Prime. I had a doctor all set up but his office does not return calls or emails in a timely manner and I wish to have someone that is going to be there for me if and when I may need help. So if there are any good suggestions of drs. that you know of and that don't have a waiting list two years out please respond. eagerly awaiting for a response, Carmen

Well, I cross-referenced the list of General Surgeons in the Tricare network in the Nashville area: http://hmd.humana-military.com/region34/provider/phyfinddistance.asp With the list of Bariatric Surgeons on this website: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/showdocs.phtml?ftype=state&surgtype=ALL&State=TN And the only name that comes up on both lists is: Vanderpool, David M MD 2400 Patterson St Ste 509 Nashville, TN 37203 (615) 963-9520 Good luck, and if you hadn't heard, Tricare stopped covering the lap-band last month, so don't even bother trying for it. I was all set to get mine, and now I'm awaiting approval instead for gastric bypass. If you are near an MTF and want to speed things up, I'd advise you to go ahead and get appointments with a Nutitionist/Dietician and a Psychiatrist (MUST be a Psychiatrist, not a psychologist) out of the way. I did this before my initial gen. surg. appointment and it saved me several weeks.
