insurance woes blue cross blue shield ppo
I'm sooo aggrievated. Now I have to provide proof that I have attempted to lose weight (i.e. gym receipts, diet pill prescriptions, etc.). I know that verification is necessary but if we could lose the weight by just dieting and exercise then we would all be thin and healthy. I have found some cancelled checks from the gym and have two doctors writing letters for me, but what else do I do? All those times I tried decreasing caloric intake and exercise, the Atkins diet, slimfast shakes, dexatrim they supposedly don't count unless a doctor has prescribed them. Had I had known I needed to prove that I had tried these things I would have saved my receipts. I know there are others out there who have done diets on their own, tried the latest craze or what have you. We all have tried so many things that obviously if they had worked we wouldn't be considering surgery. I am at a BMI of 55.8 at 5'4". It's only a matter of time before I develop something significant. I was in for chest pain in December, I have other things going on that while they have not gone into a disease yet, it is going to happen, it's just a matter of time. I would appreciate any info anyone else has concerning insurance problems. Thanks everyone for a great board.
