Have only state Medical insurance

My family lost our health ins. and could not afford anymore, I just recently got a medical card because of my health. I need the gastricbypass surgery but am having trouble finding anyone that accepts the medical card. I have three children, two of whom have medical problems and at this point I don't think I will be around to finish raising them if I don't get some help with my weight. Does anyone know of any Doctor that will take the medical card or has some kind of low cost self-pay program?

I'm not sure where you are located but Dr. Alex Argotte in Mayfield accepts the Medicaid card. Lots of times it is just a matter of calling them all and asking; or have your family doctor refer you. Good luck.

Dr. Derek Weiss at the Georgetown Hospital in Georgetown, Kentucky accepts everything, including medicare and medicaid. I don't have the phone number with me right now, but I'll try to have it tomorrow night. Teresa Gash

Dr. Weiss in Georgetown is accepting medicaid right now but only because its a new practice altho he isn't a new surgeon. he operates at georgetown Hospital and his number is 502-868-1173 or 888-868-0008. Hurry and call them as he is getting very busy and may soon stop taking the medical cards. Good luck to you. Delores
