Gallbladder surgery for me

I saw my pcp today and found out that I will have to have gallbladder surgery within a couple weeks. I was really hoping that I would be able to have my gallbladder out when I had my RNY, but the doc says I can't wait that long because I have several large stones and my gallbladder isn't functioning properly. I'm getting pretty anxious and frustrated about having to wait so long for a first consult because I have heard through the grapevine that Anthem will no longer pay for WLS after Dec. of this year. Does anyone know anything about this being true? My pcp told me today that he'd like to refer me to a surgeon that he has sent several of his patients to, trouble is I just found out that surgeon has left UK and is going to another state. Jeez I am so mixed up and frustrated I just don't know what to do. September 23 (my first consult date) is SOOO far away. Seems like I've been waiting forever. I wish I had more patience!

Marissa, if you are talking about Dr. Gandis. Dr. Steiner at the Center for Weight Loss Surgery in Lexington, has taken several of his patients. I know because he transferred one of my good friends to Dr. Steiner
