Hi Everyone: I'm fairly new to the boards. I don't think I've posted before. I'm in the process for WLS. Sent the doctor's office my packet and am waiting for the first consult with the nutritionist and nurse practitioner. What I would like to do is compile a list of KENTUCKY WLS links/resources. Message boards, websites, yahoo groups, other email lists, anything you can think of for the KY person interested in wls and wanting to reach out to the KY WLS community. My goal is to create a website for informational purposes for pre ops, considering wls people and post ops. Feel free to email me your links/suggestions at [email protected] or reply here. I know you can get the main message board sent via digest to your email. Is it possible to send ONLY the KY message board to my inbox via email? If so, let me know so I know how to proceed. Any tips/advice, whatever you have to offer are always appreciated. I'm learning as much as I can, and trying to go into this with the best attitude and expectations. So far, I have a top ten list I'm compiling for ways to prepare for WLS/pass the time till you have WLS: 10. Walk walk walk. Get into a habit of walking every day. 9. Research and read as much as you can on the subject and your doctor/hospital. 8. Start a journal. It will be a great personal growth tool as well as something to reflect on when you're a yr post op. 6. Write a list of Things you want to do when you're smaller in size. For me, it's horseback riding, dancing in public and wearing a sleeveless top. LOL I'm a simple woman. *grin* 5. Create a scrapbook of your experiences to show friends or family or just for your own personal use. 4. See a therapist. Weight loss is wonderful but your problems/issues will still be there no matter what size you are. Better to deal with them now without expecting them to disappear post op. 3. Create a game plan for POST op diet and exercise. Research gyms or equipment for home. 2. Take pictures, measurements and keep a size journal. Create one with fabrics or whatever and use it to record your size changes as you lose weight. 1. Think positively and remember the world turns and life goes on outside our sphere of thinking, pre or post op. Be in tune with others around us and their needs too. Any other suggestions for the Top Ten list? (It can be a top 20 ;) Have a great day everyone, Kathryn

Good idea Kathryn but i think most of the resources you mentioned that a person would like to research are listed right down the left hand side of the Ky Message board. It seems to have everythin g you would want. Maybe your page is set up different from mine, but mine shows it all. E-mail groups or other sites such as yahoo, i don't know about.
