Hello, I have been post op for 5 yrs now, and I have read several post I would like to encourage everyone that is having insurance issues to demand to talk to your case worker. Everyone is assigned a case worker when you request for this surgery. I established a great relationship with my case worker and went over everything with her she knew more about me than my husband LOL, I feel like I convinced her that my life was in danager due to the weight. I even sent her pictures of myself and my family and explained what I felt I was missing out on and also totalled up doc bills they had paid for me running to the doc for depression and everything else realted to my weight and showed her how much they could save if they would just cover the surgery. All in all it only took me about 3 weeks to be approved. If anyone would like to contact me please do. [email protected] Good Luck to everyone P.S. I lost 157 lbs in 9 months (but, I did get pregnant and I am sturggling to lose the weight from that, about 25 lbs, but that is better than 157lbs)

Wow Tiffany 5 years post-op and you have kept it off, even being pregnant! You should be VERY proud of yourself. My mother-in-law is 3 years post op and has kept hers off, even without being able to exercise due to having a car wreck.
