worried , but reading everyones posts is helpful

Hi everyone, I have my first visit with Dr. Bolar July 1st. The closer the date gets the more nervous I become. It helps to read what you all have to say and although I don't chat or posts messages , I come to this site often when I need to just read advice from other people. It's a terrible feeling to be scared to have this surgery and be terrified not to. Something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Hoping everything goes well for you all, Rebecca

Rebecca, I was so scared before surgery that I cried all the way to the OR. The only reason that I followed through with the surgery is because I was more afraid of living at 469 pounds then I was of dying. This surgery was the absolute best thing that I ever did for me. It gave me my life back only new and improved. I am doing the things that I could only dream of for 25 years. It is incredible what losing 300 pounds can do for your quality of life. Your big day is right around the corner. I looked at before and after pics for hours at a time before surgery. That really strengthened my reserve to have the surgery. I have'nt had surgery yet, but i know exactly what you are going thru, i'm afraid i'm gong to get right up to the time and back out. i have been thinking of ways i can do this without surgery
but i have tried all those. i know i can't do this alone. i need help, my mom is bedfast, from overweight, and arthirits, i have the same problem, i know what's waiting for me if i don't do something, i have the same thing she does, already on arthritis meds, and have had shot in my knee for the pain, don't klnow how much longer i can work like this.
just wanted you to know i'm scared too. i'll be praying for you.
