Pre ops are FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY ALL. HAVEN'T POSTED HERE IN A WHILE.... DELORES,,,, HOW ARE YOU DOING??????? I HAVE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST FINISHED UP WITH MY PRE OPS TODAY AND FOUND OUT THAT I WOULD BE ON SOUP FOR THE TWO WEEKS AFTER SURGERY.... HOPE I CAN HANDEL THAT. ALSO I AM WORRIED, WONDERING IF I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH THE TWO DAYS BEFORE SUGERY WITH THE CLEAR LIQUID DIET. I WAS ALSO WONDERING AND DELORES YOU MIGHT KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS, HOW MUCH MAGNESIUM CITRATE DO YOU DRINK????? THE SMALLEST BOTTLE THAT WAL-MART HAD WAS LIKE 10 OUNCES. DID YOU MIX IT WITH ANYTHING??? AND DELORES HAVE YOU LOST MORE WEIGHT AND HOW MUCH? I NEED TO PERSONALLY EMAIL YOU. I THINK I WILL AFTER I POST THIS. EVERYBODY, I WISH YOU LUCK, NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THIS PROCESS OF HAVING SURGERY. THE WAITING IS THE WORST. I HAD TO GIVE UP THIS SITE FOR A WHILE IN ORDER FOR TIME TO PASS QUICKER. IT WAS KILLING ME. NOW, I AM NOT RUNNING OFF ANYONE, BUT IT DID HELP MYSELF TO LEAVE OH FOR A WHILE. THAT WAY I WASN'T SO FOCUSED ON THE SURGERY. AND NOW I AM HAVING SURGEY NEXT WEEK,,,, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! NEXT WEEK!!!! I'M SO EXCITED. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP IF YOU GET TURNED DOWN IN YOU JOURNEY. KEEP ON KEEPING ON.... AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL....PEACE....
Don't worry about the two weeks of soup (especially if one of them, like mine, includes cream soups); I'm into my second week and have note been hungry yet. Let me say that again - NOT HUNGRY! I can't believe it myself. I have absolutely had "head hunger", especially watching all the food commercials! Last week I would have killed for a spoonful of spaghetti sauce. When I woke up in the hospital the first thought was "well, I'm alive, thank you Lord" and "and I'm not hungry" - 2 minor miracles. Good luck to you; I PROMISE you, without complications, it gets better every day.
Don't forget...do not get the Cherry version you an not suppose to have red anything during that two day post clear liquids. I put mine over ice and did drink water as well......hey and don't worry about the soups...what Dr. Shina and Geller mean is you are to only have soups but you are to eat the meats and noodles in the soup. The broth will help it go down. Dr. Geller went so far as to tell me to make sure that I got as much of the mushy stuff in the soup as possible and to lay off the broth. The reason they have you eat just that is because the meat and vegi's in the soups are usually very mushy and tender. Good luck to you. I had my surgery on March 10 with Dr. Geller, Dr. Shina assisted. Hope alll goes well for you.
