Yes That! Doc says I have Achalasia and must get a unfilled for 3 months. It is frightening but necessary. I am preparing my heart and mind to work hard to stay on track and get my esophogus and pouch in good working order. I pray for success with just the unfill.

Hi Dawn, I had to get an upper GI and they found a lot of swelling so the cheapest thing to do is empty my band and see if the swelling would go down. I had wanted to get a fill and had saved up the money but instead I paid the money but got unfilled. I was upset but they showed me the pictures and I knew it was best. Didn't stop me from crying. After two months I must get another upper GI then see where we go from there. I may have to get an EDG which is more expensive, It's around $4,000 at the hospital where I had lapband surgery. Hopefully I won't need it. I have to take omeprezole daily for gas, which I was full of. Otherwise things are ok. I don't have insurance so that's the bummer. I've been working out regularly with weights, treadmill, stationary bike and exercise DVD's along with trying to eat like I have a band. It's hard.
Just got back from vacationing so I'll be back on the board journaling daily.
