Tomorrow is my big day! (RNY)

Ok.. so until this point I haven't been nervous at all about my upcoming RNY. With my surgery tomorrow (Wed) at Georgetown Community Hospital, Ive spent the last two days making myself a nervous wreck!

I've done all the research I need to, made all the necessary plans/changes, stocked my kitchen full of bariatric friendly foods/supplies, packed my bag for the hospital stay, and here I sit waiting for morning to come.

I spent all day yesterday crying. I never thought I would be scared of surgery, however, it has finally hit me. The, "oh what if something bad happens" moment. My fiance reminds me every few hours that it isn't too late to change my mind and cancel the surgery. I don't want to do that. I want to get through this "scared" moment! I didn't spend two years trying to get surgery approved to cancel now.

I know many of you have gone through this so please wish me luck and hopefully I'll be able to post great news in a few days! Thanks for listening!

Shea,
I know exactly how you are feeling. My RNY is scheduled to take place on the 30th. Every since I got the call yesterday I have been a ball of nerves. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow on your surgery. You will do great and come through it with flying colors.

Lots of Luck,
Andrea

Best of luck to you!
You will be fine and you won't have any regrets.....ok..you are going to be sore.  Really sore......but it will end.....and your results are going to blow your mind!
Enjoy the journey.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I had a big let down today!

Here I was in my hospital room with IV in arm - all ready and set to go - when an emergency arose with a patient that my surgeon had operated on yesterday. He was expected to be in surgery for 3-4 hours! My surgery had to be postponed until Friday!

As if I wasn't stressed enough! Sigh .. ok breathe!

So now, not only am I a little nervous, I'm ALOT nervous! If something went wrong with the patient from yesterday, am I going to have a problem too??

My fiance reminded me "that everything happens for a reason". I sure hope he is right!
