Fresh out of surgery
I am new to this forum and I just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Gulie and I am a 22 yr old female.
I had lap band surgery less than a week ago and so far everything is going very well except for some soreness.
I only know one other person that has had WLS and I was wondering if any of you could share your stories with me? ex. what is in store for me in the next few weeks/months.
Thanks.

Hi Gulie-
I too am RNY but there are bandsters here....give em time they check in. Most of the folks on this board are great about answering questions...so hang in. Also, though I am RNY they have been supportive of me which is awesome for me.
I think the best thing ever said to me was They fixed my stomach not my head and there are definately days I have to remember this. I find it is easy to slip into old habits so go as far as you can in the newbie phase. But when we use our tools (assuming no issues) they do work.
I wish you the very, very best with your band.
The other thing that you may try to consider....get to a support group. man oh, man do they make a difference. They will also give you people to call with questions and support.
best to you and KUDOS for taking your life back!

Hi...I have to say..at first I was thinking what have I done to my self after having the Lap band...but almost 3 months later...down 56 pounds...I have to say now...its the best thing I've ever done for my self. I'm 25 years old and at one time weighed 379...never thought I would be soo happy to say I now weigh 296. Its a big deal...but if you're gonna do it...stick with it. Its hard no matter what surgery you have. As I was told the first time I thought about having surgery...its a tool to help you lose weight..won't do it for ya....although...It def helps to lose weight. I wish you nothing but the best and please keep us updated on what your thoughts and progress are. Hope to hear from ya soon!
