Well I got home today! I am very sore but not really alot of pain. Really jumpy with every little pain I feel wondering if that is normal. Struggling with clear liquids but he said I could do some protein shakes. I am going to try those tomorrow. I think I have a little buyers remorse at this point. Keep wondering if I can do this but that appears to be normal according to the boards. Anyone out there have a recommendation of protein while you are on the clear liquids? Will update again soon.

I'm glad you are home and feeling reasonably well. I'm not sure how long you are on clears...mine will only be 2 days post-op. The told me that in those two days not to worry too much about the protein, but to make sure you stay hydrated. One day three when I go to full liquids is when I start the protein shakes.
Take it easy and get well!

Clear protein is Isopure....40 grams per bottle- kinda large.  you can get it at GNC and is much better cold.
I had RNY a year and a week ago, please feel free to contact me and ask any questions you may have.

Hang in there!  Please keep us posted on your progress.  I'm now 4 weeks VSG pre-op with Dr. Oldham.  Here's wishing you all the best and sending prayers your way...

Just be careful with the Weiss/Oldham group. They never see you post-op and leave your post-op care to a nurse. They travel to a bunch of cities to do surgery and then skip town. I think they live in Lexington, KY and travel to 6 or 7 different cities on their private plane. They truly are a surgery mill and charge more than anyone else. I hear they are generally adequate technicians, but their care has much to be desired. If your in the Lexington area see Sonnastine at Georgetwon.

Good luck.

totally understand you!  I cried in the ICU when I woke up from my RNY.  I said, "I've changed my mind... I want it reversed!"  It is totally normal to feel that way.  I'm here if you ever need to talk!  message me!

I too struggled with the protein!  Still kinda do so not really helpful in that area.. but hopefully someone else will be able to help you there.

thoughts to you!!!
Deb
