Dr. Smith @ KDMC

I gave all my paperwork to Dr. Smith's office on Tues.  How long after this can I expect to hear from either the Dr. office or the ins. co.?

It depends on the Ins Co. I have Dr. Wheeler. They told me not to call the Ins Co for 10 days to 2 weeks. To my surprise I got a letter from the Ins Co in about a week. I didn't know what it was a first, called the Dr's office and they told me it was my approval.

Dr. Thompkins did my surgery and everything was submitted and I received a call within 9 days that I was approved. I got the call before I got the letter from my Ins. company. But every company is different so if you don't hear anything after 2 weeks I would feel free to call them. Glad to have finally found a few people somewhat local thats using the same office. Hey Christy, I am going to Dr. Smith...I go Thursday hopefully for my final visit so I can try to get my approval.....Hopefully I will hear something soon after that!! :)

Tina, in the office is pretty awesome with keeping up with everything. She knew I was stressing so she called me as soon as she had word instead of making me wait for the letter. I love her for that.
It will all go by so fast you will be surprised. Use the time you have to get ready for everything. You will have a appointment for your pre-op teaching soon and then your filter done and then the BIG DAY..WOOO HOOOO

Thanks sooo much that makes me feel a little better not knowing is such a downer.  I have never been a patient person sad to say. LOL  Hugs back thanks for the morale boost.

Depends on your insurance company. My ins. sent me papers saying I was approved.

I used Dr. Thomkins and it took my insurance co. 3 weeks to approve.  I have Federal BC/BS.
Best of luck to you!  The waiting is the hardest part!

Thanks!  I keep telling myself just be patient but I don't listen. LOL  I have humana but I found out yesterday that they haven't sent it to ins. yet.  I had some of my test done at Pikeville Medical Center and it has taken two months for me to get results of a stress test.  I didn't realize that I didn't have the right results till yesterday.  When I requested results they gave me an old one from 2008.  Tina called yesterday to tell me to see if I could get results.  Long story, I went to hospital this evening after school to pick them up and guess what they still hadn't processed my test results.  They looked and looked and finally on a cart beside the lady that puts these on computer was my results.  I have them in hand and will fax to Tina in the morning when I get to school.  Glad I didn't have heart problems cause I would be a goner by now!  Well I'm still hanging in there hoping they will approve me.
