I got my date!!!!!
Thanks, I first went to the seminar Jan 4th and filled out my paperwork that night. They called me on Thursday for my first appointment to be the next Thursday (1/14). They already had a copy of the insurance card so they already pulled to see if they cover the procedure. On my first appointment they set me up for the next appointment for the next day (1/15). They told me on that Friday that it normally takes about a week for them to send in the paper work. I found out that my paperwork had been received by my insurance company on (1/26) and on Friday (1/29) the doctor's office called me to tell me that the insurance company had approved the procedure and I have a surgery date of (2/18). So from start to surgery date 7 weeks. I have to say I'm very surprised how fast it went. But, my BMI is 42 and I also have comorbities which helps in the getting the insurance approval. Good luck on the process and let me know if I can answer any questions along the way. It has been very helpful having both this site and the other site we used to registered (for the life of me I can't remember the name of it right now) for support and getting questions answered. Take care. Michele
that's great that you didn't have to wait long for insurance approval. I talked to Keri, the insurance person at St. Joes. WLS, today and she set me up with my first appointment on 2/18. I was all excited about it until after I talked to my supervisor to get that date off. My supervisor told me that I couldn't have that day off or any other day off for the month of Feb. due to a staffing shortage. So now I have to wait until March to be able to schedule my first appointment.
That's cool that we're in the same town.
