Doctors....insurance and out of pocket expenses
Ok..I did my research today on who is currently accepting Medicare patiences. No one in the Nasvhille area are taking them right now.
I did find that Georgetown and St Joes in Lexington are. Are there others? Who do you all recommend. I have been reading alot of post here tonight.
What I want is gastric bypass. I have Medicare. I want something that is not going to cost a hand and leg out of pocket and a program that works to get you in and on your way as soon as everything is ready.
Could you tell me average wait times and answer some of the others questions. Thanks You
God Bless

I know that Dr. Sonnanstine in Georgetown does, Dr. Weiss and Oldham, also practice in G-town but are located in Lexington and they do, but I would not use them. Those are really the only three WLS doctors I have had experience with, but I think that Dr. Husted is trying to get the hospital in Somerset, KY COE approved so he can accept them.

To get things started and move a little quicker, you will need 12 months of medical records, a letter from your primary care physician stating they agree that you need the weight loss surgery. The Center has a patient packet online that you can download and at least get started on filling that out also here is the link http://www.georgetownbariatrics.com/default/attend-a-seminar /forms this should at least get you on the road to the WLS journey
