hurting for about 5 days now, and not getting better
I have been hurting really bad since Wednesday morning, really alot of stomach pain, and gas and bloating!! can't throw up I have tried, I went to my friends house in tennessee for a couple days and yesterday I didn't eat much at all, and then we ate at Golden Corral, and I didn't over eat, but as soon as i sit down for the ride back from Johnson city to Kingsport I thought I was gonna die, I was so sick, we stopped to shop and I couldnt even get out of car, , then got the dry heaves, and finally layed down and it wore off, if i eat anything I am getting sick, and my stomach is settled sore, and been using a lot of gas x strips, any suggestions or anyone else experience this, I will be 2 years out in Feb. and never had this before. Lisa
Hey Lisa,
Do you have the band or the by pass? Back at the end of Sept I had the same thing happen and apparetly I had a hunk of something stuck. Went down and saw Dr. Sonnanstine he drained all the fluid out of my band and by the time we got back home(it's about an hour drive) I was able to eat soup(and then advance the diet over the next 2 days) and was as fine as can be.
I defenitely would not wait it out(my dumb ass waited almost a solid week). If you get super uncomfortable I would hit the ER in my opinion it's better to be safe than sorry( especially heaven forbid you have a bowel obstruction). I would rather get poked and prodded at the ER or the surgeon office than something awful happen and have to be cut open again.
But that's just my opinion

Thanks Wendy, I had bypass will be 2 years in Feb. I have never felt this bad in my stomach area, my stomach is settled sore, it hurts when I get up or sit down, as long as I don't eat, I dont have the bad bloating, but belching way to much, and gas x strips helps a little, last night i was so sick, I drank about 3 sips of coke to help me belch because I couldn't I haven't drank soda in 3 years, so it tasted bad, but helped a little, I am calling my surgeons office if I am not a lot better tomorrow, and I am guess I won't be any better at all!! thanks for answering!! Lisa
Oh Lisa...I hope you start feeling better soon!
This sounds like how I did back in August....my intestines had been "kinking"......this may be too much info, but I could belch a lot but would go through periods of not passing gas in the other direction, would be constipated, then after a couple of days, I'd have diarhea and LOTS of gas.
My stomach stayed sore and sounds like what you are experiencing. I couldn't eat much at all.....I guess the food was getting backed up.
I went for an endoscopy and he found the kink and also found that I had an internal hernia. I had surgery for it but healed quickly.
Now the only discomfort I am having is from my gall bladder and I hope to have that removed too!
I'd call and make an appt.
Let me know what he says!
Leslie

Other than the swelling, all the symptoms sound like what I had when my gallbladder was bad. I'm sure you know rapid weight loss can zap a gallbladder.
Do you have pain under the ribcage that radiates into the back shoulder blades? Mine would come and go as well. Actually, the 2 weeks prior to having it removed I had no symptoms at all but by then it was decided the bugger was coming out since the ultrasound showed I had two stones which I named Pebbles and Bam-Bam!
Knock wood that you continue to be pain free and your doc figures out what's causing the problem quickly!
